Painting starts with the surface

Tell us which rooms or surfaces you want painted, their approximate dimensions and the finish you have in mind. Photos should show the overall area and any peeling finish, stains, cracks or previous patches. Surface condition helps determine what preparation needs to be included.

Color is one choice; the condition underneath is another. Mention whether you are changing from a dark color to a light one, matching an existing finish or including trim and doors. If you have already purchased paint, provide the product and color details before the scope is agreed.

Kitchen, bathroom and full remodeling projects

TimberMount’s remodeling services include kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, drywall and full remodeling projects. Start with the changes you want and what should remain. A kitchen or bathroom project may be a focused update or part of a broader renovation; defining the individual tasks makes the scope clearer.

For flooring, share the room dimensions, existing floor, preferred material and transitions to adjacent spaces. For drywall, show the location and extent of the area needing work and describe any known cause of damage. Removal, underlying-condition repairs and finish details should be discussed explicitly.

For a full remodel, list the rooms and improvements in order of priority. Include any drawings, product specifications or plans from another professional. Structural changes, plumbing, electrical work and other specialist requirements need separate review before anyone assumes they are included.

Plan access and the order of work

Consider whether the space will remain occupied, how furniture and belongings will be handled, and whether another project must be finished first. Surface repairs, new installations and finish work need to be coordinated so completed areas do not have to be revisited unnecessarily.

Share any known moisture problems or damaged materials before work is planned. Painting over a visible symptom may not address its cause. Any work involving suspected hazardous materials requires an appropriate assessment and should not be assumed to be part of a standard painting or remodeling scope.

What affects the quote?

Project size, preparation needs, access, finish selection, removal work and the number of separate surfaces or tasks affect the scope. An occupied room can present different access needs from an empty space. A repair with concealed damage can also require further review after the condition is understood.

List each requested improvement and discuss inclusions, exclusions and material responsibilities before scheduling. Any change in the agreed work should be reviewed for its effect on price and timing.

Common questions.

Can I combine painting with other improvements?

Yes. List the complete project so the work can be discussed in the right order. Preparation, installation and finishing may need to be scheduled as separate steps.

Should I choose every finish before contacting TimberMount?

No. Begin with the changes you want and any choices you have already made. Product selection can then be considered alongside the confirmed scope.

Does remodeling automatically include electrical or plumbing work?

No. Describe any specialist work your plan may require. Its scope and who will perform it must be confirmed separately.
